PTA

Amport School has a very active, committed and friendly PTA.  Every parent and teacher is considered an active member and many contribute enormously to the success of the fundraising.

The PTA runs a schedule of events and activities throughout the year; however, if you have any ideas for new events or exciting activities that you feel we could arrange, please do get in touch.  All ideas are welcomed and offers of help are gratefully received. It does not matter to what extent you are able to assist. Everything from running an event, to buying goodies on Treat Friday* is appreciated.  Every bit helps.

Everyone is welcomed and encouraged to attend our PTA meetings, details of which are sent to parents via Parentmail, and via notices on the PTA board and on the school gate. The PTA minutes are circulated to all those who attend the meeting (or make their apologies) and are available on request from any member of the PTA. A hard copy is also kept in the school office.

In 2019-2020, we had another busy year of events and activities including our very successful Treat Friday* (cakes in the winter/spring and ice creams in the summer), pumpkin carving competitions, Easter Egg competitions, a PTA disco and regular film nights for the children, not to mention our very thrifty Thrift Shop! The Quiz night is always a calendar highlight and The Amport School Fun Run (run in conjunction with Muddy Runners) has been a popular addition to the calendar, proving enormously successful with families, villagers and running clubs alike.

The PTA has continued to raise money to support the school's improvement plan including funding the provision of books, educational visits and visitors, all of which benefits the education of our children. However, the main thrust of fundraising over the last couple of years has been to support the school's recent classroom refurbishment. The PTA would like to say a huge thank you all the parents, teachers and children who have helped to make this possible.
