Mental Health and Welbeing

At Amport CE (Aided) Primary School we ensure that the children's emotional wellbeing and mental health is one of our priorities. Through our curriculum, conversations and whole school initiatives we ensure children understand that mental health is as important as our physical health and we need to look after it.

Nicky King has completed the DFE funded Senior Mental Health Lead Training through the charity Place2be. We also continue to work with our Mental Health Support Team who facilitate a termly coffee morning in school. This year we have Year 6 Mental Health Champions who think of ways to support our mental health and wellbeing. So far this year they have introduced a friendship bench and a kindness box.

Please find below our Mental Health and wellbeing policy, which includes our graduated response to levels of support and links to other sources of information to support you and your child at home.
