Pupil Leadership
At Amport School, we are committed to nurturing a culture where pupil leadership is part of everyday school life. We believe children thrive when they are trusted, listened to and given meaningful opportunities to shape their school community. When pupils take on leadership roles, they bring energy, ideas and purpose to the life of the school, helping to ensure that everything we do remains relevant and rooted in their experiences.
We aim to offer as many opportunities as possible for children to grow into confident, thoughtful and articulate leaders. Whether they are sharing their views with adults, representing their peers or taking responsibility for an aspect of school life, we want them to understand that their contributions matter. Pupil leadership helps children apply their skills in real life situations, both within our school and in the wider community, and encourages them to take pride in the part they play.
Each leadership role gives children a chance to influence decisions, express their opinions and work collaboratively to improve the school. We encourage pupils to question, reflect and discuss the issues that are important to them, knowing that their voices will be respected and taken seriously. By giving children genuine ownership, we not only strengthen our school community but also help shape compassionate, responsible leaders for the future.
This approach is firmly rooted in our Christian values of Courage, Compassion and Respect. These values guide our pupil leaders as they work alongside staff, contribute ideas to enhance learning, promote positive behaviour and gather the views of their peers.
