PTA

 

Amport School has a very active, committed and friendly PTA.  Every parent and teacher is a member and all contribute enormously to the success of the fundraising.

 

If you have any ideas for events or fun that you feel we could arrange, please do get in touch.  All ideas are welcomed and offers of help are gratefully received.  It does not matter to what extent you are able to assist.  Everything from running an event, to buying goodies on Treat Friday* is appreciated.  Every bit helps.

 

Last academic year 2015/16, as well as raising money for books, educational visits and visitors, we raised a substantial sum towards the new teaching kitchen which is now completed! It is a fabulous space and we are very lucky to be able to afford such a fantastic facility for our children to learn in. A huge thank you is due to all the parents, teachers and children who helped to make this possible.

 

Also during the academic year 2015/16, we had our very successful Treat Fridays* (ran most Fridays), a pumpkin carving competition, Christmas card designing, Humpty’s Easter Wall, as well as our very thrifty Thrift Shop!  We had a disco & regular film nights for the children. The wreath making event and quiz evenings were also highlights, even if the top prizes were won by the governors and the teachers!

 

This academic year 2016/17, we will continue to run film nights for pupils, as well as a race night, a fun run, all the usual Christmas festivities and some Easter competitions.  Parents, teachers and the wider community are encouraged to come along. Look out for posters which will advertise each event.

Amport & Monxton Fete - 8th July - a community event but with lots of school involvement

 

We are also planning a Sal's shoes collection at the end of term and a barn dance for September.

Everyone is welcome to attend our meetings details of which are sent to parents via Parentmail, notices on the PTA board and the school gate too.  The PTA minutes are available from any member of the PTA and a hard copy is kept in the school office.

 

*Please note that all goods for sale are made by volunteers in private dwellings.  Some of these individuals may not hold the appropriate food safety licenses.  In addition, Amport School does have a no nuts policy which all bakers adhere to.  It is however, worth noting that items on sale may contain traces of nuts.
